Lesson F2.2: Launch Alignment, Route Plans, and Home
A program assumes a starting pose. Use flat robot surfaces against consistent guides in home, select the intended program, and make the launch procedure repeatable. A few degrees of starting error becomes a large sideways error after a long drive.
Plan the return before the outbound route. Returning home can let the team change an attachment or choose another program, subject to the current Robot Game rules.
Official hardware activity
Work through The Guided Mission and compare its launch setup with your team's field.
Simulator practice
Cross the line or activate the target, then reverse or turn back toward the blue home region. End with x below -82 cm and z above 25 cm.
Loading the FLL block workspace...
Try it in the SPIKE App
Write a launch checklist. Have different team members use it, then compare three runs without changing the code.
